Elephants taking a bath with their young, a herd of zebras filing past on their way to the watering hole, herds of springbok in the savannah, a pair of lions lazing under a bush - in Etosha you experience animals in the wild. The 22,700 kmē national park sustains more than 110 different species of mammals and more than 230 species of birds. Named after the huge salt pan of a dried up lake (Etosha = large white place), the park, one of the oldest conservation areas in Africa, is currently celebrating its centenary.

Etosha Safari Lodge opens in November 2008 with 50 bungalows, restaurant, bar and swimming pool. Situated on a hillock about 2 km from the camp, it affords magnificent views across tree-covered hills towards Etosha National Park. Etosha’s Andersson Gate is a mere 10 km away. The lodge offers daily guided game drives into the park for those who do not want to drive themselves.
